David Plank is a Senior Project Manager and Architect with over 30 years of experience leading complex architectural projects from concept through completion. He brings specialized expertise in historic building rehabilitation and adaptive reuse, with a deep understanding of preservation standards, sustainable design strategies, and regulatory frameworks.

David’s diverse project portfolio includes work in higher education, hospitality, retail, restaurants, and senior living. He is a trusted client partner, serving as the primary point of contact throughout the design process and ensuring project goals are fully realized. His leadership encompasses managing multidisciplinary teams, overseeing project budgets and schedules, and providing both creative direction and technical guidance.

An expert in historic preservation compliance, David works closely with local and federal agencies, including State Historic Preservation Offices (SHPO), the National Park Service (NPS), and other regulatory bodies. He is highly experienced in preparing and coordinating Historic Preservation Certification Applications (HPCA) —critical to securing historic tax credits and project approvals.

In addition to project leadership, David contributes to firm-wide operations by mentoring staff, supporting business development initiatives, and helping guide internal processes, staffing, and financial forecasting. Though based remotely, he remains closely integrated with the Madison office and collaborates seamlessly with teams across the firm’s locations.
