Spencer is an architect and practice leader with extensive experience in historic preservation, adaptive reuse, existing buildings, and complex public-sector projects. As ICA’s Managing Architect and Mid-Atlantic Director, he provides technical and strategic leadership for the firm’s work throughout the region while helping expand ICA’s relationships with federal, state, District, institutional, and cultural clients. His experience includes leading multidisciplinary teams and navigating complex regulatory and federal approval processes from early planning and investigation through design and construction administration. Spencer brings a collaborative approach that combines technical expertise, project leadership, client service, and a commitment to the thoughtful stewardship of historic places.
