InSite Consulting Architects Announces Expanded Ownership and Leadership Transition
03.12.26 | For Immediate Release | Madison, WI; Washington, DC
Madison, Wisconsin — InSite Consulting Architects (ICA) is pleased to announce an expansion of the firm’s ownership and leadership team as part of a thoughtfully planned transition that reflects the firm’s continued growth and long-term vision for stewardship.
Zachary Mar-Pohl, Stacey Z. Keller, Oscar Izaguirre, and David Plank have joined ICA’s ownership as Partners and owners, building upon the foundation established by founding Partner Stephen Mar-Pohl and longtime leader and co-owner Chris Oddo. Together, this expanded leadership team represents the next generation of stewardship for a firm that has become nationally recognized for its work in historic preservation, building enclosure technology, and thoughtful architectural practice.
For more than 25 years, ICA has worked at the intersection of architecture, preservation, and building science, helping institutions, cultural organizations, and public agencies care for historic buildings and complex building enclosures. Throughout that time, the firm has remained guided by a consistent set of values: respect for historic fabric, integrity in technical decision-making, accountability to clients and communities, and a deep investment in the people who carry this work forward.
“As our firm has grown in recent years — in the scale of projects we undertake, the expertise of our team, and the number of communities we serve — it became clear that expanding our ownership was the right step to ensure ICA’s long-term continuity,” said Stephen Mar-Pohl, founding Partner of the firm. “Welcoming this next generation of owners reflects both the strength of our team and the shared commitment we have to the future of the firm.”
Chris Oddo, who has helped guide ICA’s growth alongside Mar-Pohl for more than a decade, emphasized the importance of continuity in the transition. “Seeing this next generation of owners step forward with such talent, care, and commitment gives me great confidence in where ICA is headed,” Oddo said. “The firm’s success has always been built on collaboration and shared values, and that foundation remains strong.”
The addition of four new Partners and owners reflects both ICA’s growth and its continued commitment to building leadership capacity within the firm.
Each brings a complementary perspective and area of focus:
-
Zachary Mar-Pohl contributes deep expertise in building enclosure systems and preservation technology, continuing ICA’s longstanding emphasis on rigorous technical investigation and thoughtful building performance solutions.
-
Stacey Z. Keller brings nationally recognized leadership in historic preservation practice and public-sector collaboration, reinforcing ICA’s role as a trusted preservation partner for institutions and communities.
-
Oscar Izaguirre focuses on firm growth, client relationships, and organizational culture, helping strengthen the connections and collaborative partnerships that support ICA’s work.
-
David Plank contributes leadership in project delivery and strategic operations, ensuring the firm continues to execute complex work with consistency, care, and technical excellence.
Together, the expanded ownership team strengthens ICA’s ability to serve clients while maintaining the collaborative culture that has long defined the firm.
At ICA, ownership represents more than leadership — it represents stewardship. The firm’s Partners share responsibility for sustaining the culture, technical rigor, and values that have guided ICA since its founding.
“Our work is ultimately about caring for places that matter to communities,” said Mar-Pohl. “That responsibility requires both technical expertise and a deep sense of stewardship. Expanding ownership ensures that ICA’s mission, values, and commitment to excellence continue to guide the firm well into the future.”
As a federally registered small business, ICA also takes pride in delivering consistent quality while supporting small-business participation across public and institutional projects nationwide. The expanded ownership team reinforces ICA’s commitment to mentoring emerging professionals, cultivating leadership within the firm, and continuing to grow in a thoughtful and sustainable way.
Looking forward, ICA remains dedicated to preserving meaningful places, advancing communities, and strengthening the collaborative partnerships that make this work possible.
